The residency projects will open the Frei Art Festival with a joint showing on September 15, 2025. As part of the Frei Art Festival 2025, Studio Pro Arte in Freiburg will award seven summer residencies to selected artists from Freiburg and the border triangle.

For one week in September, Freiburg becomes a meeting place for the international dance and art scene: The Frei Art Festival is a vibrant, interdisciplinary festival that celebrates the power of the performing arts and brings it to life.

What began in 2020 has long since become an integral part of the local and international festival landscape. With exceptional performances, inspiring workshops, and world-class instructors, the festival creates a space where encounters, exchange, and artistic exploration take center stage – for professionals as well as for dance enthusiasts without stage experience.

At Studio Pro Arte, a place full of movement, culture, and creativity, the festival connects people from all over the world. This is where new things are created: choreographers and young artists meet a receptive audience, share their visions, and collaborate on current topics.

There is discussion, dancing, thinking – with depth, with attitude and with joy.
