About the Artist
Ahlam El Morsli is a Moroccan dancer-choreographer and founder of the company Col'jam. She works as a contemporary dance teacher, choreographer, and performer, with contemporary dance as her primary mode of expression and action. She trained originally within Casablanca's first contemporary dance company, "2K-Far," founded by choreographer Khalid Benghrib, before going on to build an international career as a performer, diversifying her modes of expression and collaborating with artists across disciplines — choreographers, visual artists, musicians, and digital designers. She also co-directs the festival "Les Rencontres Chorégraphiques de Casablanca" and its extension "L'Escale Rbatia," and is a member of the Moroccan Federation of Professional Choreography.
More recently, her work has moved into technology-driven territory: she creates performances shaped by sensors, augmented imagery, and real-time digital manipulation, developing pieces that blend dance with digital and sound arts. As she describes it, her work explores boundaries — human, material, geographic, or imagined — through the body, emotion, and technology alike.
About the Workshop
In this worksop, Ahlam invites participants into her contemporary dance practice — one shaped by folkloric training, international collaboration, and an ongoing dialogue between body and technology. Sessions focus on movement quality, presence, and personal expression, drawing on her experience developing works that merge dance with digital and sound elements.
