About the Artist

Scorpion 99, born Mohammed Garmoumi in Casablanca and now based in Marrakech, is a Moroccan dancer and teacher who blends house, hip-hop, and traditional dances from across the different regions of Morocco. Drawing on styles like reggada, jbala, and gnawa alongside his house and hip-hop foundation, he pays tribute to Moroccan culture through movement. A few years ago, he launched Respect Your Culture, a project celebrating cultural heritage through dance — not only Moroccan culture, but every culture — designed to be accessible to audiences around the world.

About the Workshop

This workshop introduces the foundations and essence of House dance, focusing on groove, rhythm, musicality, and freestyle expression. Participants explore the core techniques of House, including footwork, jacking, skating, and lofting, while learning how to connect movement naturally to the music and with each other.

Open to all levels, the session builds a shared floor where beginners and experienced dancers alike can discover the feel and freedom at the heart of House — a style rooted in groove as much as technique, and in connection as much as individual expression.
