About the Battle

Kids Battle brings the energy of urban dance culture to the youngest generation of the Frei Art Festival. Rooted in styles like hip-hop, house, and freestyle, a battle is a playful, competitive format where dancers take turns showing off their moves in front of a cheering crowd — building confidence, creativity, and a sense of belonging within the culture of street and urban dance.

For Kids Battle, the format is adapted to be encouraging and fun rather than intimidating: the focus is on self-expression, musicality, and the joy of moving to the beat, with plenty of support from peers, coaches, and the crowd.

Whether competing, freestyling, or simply cheering from the sidelines, participants get a taste of the community spirit that defines the battle scene — respect, creativity, and shared energy on the floor.

No prior competition experience is needed — just enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to move.
