Bridges - Urban Dance Performance

Trinational dance project

Studio Pro Arte

September 20, 2025 at 2:00:00 PM

In a unique collaboration between Premier Trait (France), Tanzhaus Basel (Switzerland) and Studio Pro Arte, young dancers from the border triangle will present the result of their intensive, cross-border collaboration on September 20 and 21: the dance piece “Bridges” .

“BRIDGES – Connection as Movement”

In "BRIDGES," young people from France, Germany, and Switzerland explore through dance what unites us – and what divides us. A powerful collage of dance and emotion creates a moving stage piece about belonging, individuality, and togetherness.

The development of the piece was participatory: young people developed texts and movements in collaborative processes. Their thoughts on topics such as friendship, trust, fear, separation, and solidarity flow into the piece.

Stylistically, “BRIDGES” uses urban dance forms such as hip-hop, krump and contemporary and?

which can embody both friction and connection. The choreography moves between solo introspection and collective dynamics – with moments of calm, confrontation, but also harmony.

The focus is always on one question: How can connection succeed – with ourselves, with others, as a society?

"BRIDGES" isn't a ready-made answer, but rather a dynamic space for thought. A performance that doesn't pretend to perfect harmony, but rather seeks genuine encounters – between dance and audience, between young people and the world.
