About the Evening
An evening of three distinct solos and duets exploring body, culture, and time — each piece approaching movement from a different artistic path, brought together on one stage.

No Man's Land — Aurora Magrì
Choreography and performance by Safet Mistele & Aurora Magrì, premiered 20.12.2025 at Kulturhaus Dock 4. *No Man's Land* reflects on division — between bodies, identities, and the ground we share. Rather than remembering that we are born on the same earth, we are taught to focus on sides, borders, and oppositions. This duet questions whether separation is necessary, and how fragile we become when we accept the lines drawn for us — not only a duet, but a trio of body, body, and space, read together, on the same ground, without sides. The piece is created by Radical Bodies Dance Collective, founded in 2022 by Aurora Magrì and Safet Mistele in Kassel, Germany. Since *Outsider* (2022), the collective has developed a physically intense, socially engaged choreographic language through works including *It Is What It Is*, *Landfall*, and now *No Man's Land*, alongside workshops and an annual intensive performance project supporting freelance and emerging dancers.

CERCLE — Olé Khamchanla
A choreographic solo at the crossroads of cultures. Olé Khamchanla questions the essence of his dance, from its origins in hip-hop to its hybridity with contemporary dance and the traditional dances of Thailand and Laos — borrowing from West and East, street and classical forms. The circle evokes both an intimate inner space and an outer zone of exploration, a universality found in the dancer's gestures and a perpetual movement pushing him to seek new paths. Born in Laos and raised in France, Khamchanla discovered hip-hop in 1990, trained across hip-hop, capoeira, and contemporary dance, and danced with company A'CORPS before founding his own company in 2011. A formative journey to Laos and Thailand in 2006 to study traditional dance continues to shape his search for the crossing of dances and cultures.

90/now — Noutnapha Soydala
A reflection on time, transformation, and the body through movement. Driven by the question "Why is it not better than before?", *90/now* uses the choreographer's personal journey since 1990 — with original music and custom eco-printed textiles — to mirror the universal experience of navigating change. True to its philosophy of living in the "Now," the piece adapts live to the space, environment, and audience of each performance, challenging us to let go of the past and inhabit the present. Noutnapha Soydala (Nout) is a Lao dancer, choreographer, and co-founder of Fanglao Dance Company, rooted in Lao traditional dance since age six and touring internationally since 2008 with France's Compagnie KHAM. Her acclaimed solos, including *Kip*, *Phuying*, and *90/Now*, have earned recognition including a Special Jury Award at Japan's ODORO-AKITA Festival.
