About the Day

Family Day is a day for all ages, designed to bring families together through movement, play, and shared creativity. Rather than separating generations into different programs, the day is built around doing things side by side — kids and parents exploring dance together, discovering how movement feels and looks from the other's perspective.

The day combines two parts: hands-on workshops where families move, play, and create together, followed by performances where everyone can sit back and enjoy the festival as an audience. There's no pressure to be a "dancer" — the workshops are designed to be playful and accessible, welcoming complete beginners and experienced movers alike, with parents and children learning and laughing together rather than one teaching the other.

After the movement sessions, the day shifts into performance mode, giving families the chance to experience the festival together from the audience — a natural next step after having explored movement themselves, now watching how professional dancers and performers bring their own ideas to the stage.
