Description - In Movement
Blenard’s teaching deals with the transformation of movement and the building of deep dance vocabularies that derive from a conscious stepping out of our comfort zones. The parameters dynamics, sharpness and speed are therefore our main concern. In this way, the work aims to unveil and bring for- ward those unique features of our dancing personalities, which often remain deeply hidden. We embark on a journey of movement, taking our own life experience with us and translating it into an artistic language. We create a common story, a common world through movement and let a common choreography emerge from it.
His extensive experience as a dance teacher in professional dance companies and dance schools, as well as with umprofessional dancers, has developed his workshop work into powerful and mature material.
Biography Blenard Azizaj
Blenard Azizaj was born in Albania. He studied at the National State School of Dance in Greece, where he graduated as a dancer, dance teacher and choreographer. He has worked with various companies in Europe, including Sasha Waltz & Guests in Berlin, the Akram Khan Company in London and Cie Linga in Lausanne. His career has taken him around the globe, touring and performing at international dance festivals. He also works as a choreographer and lecturer, teaching his 'dance dialect' in dance companies, dance and theatre academies and several studios around the world. His recent choreographic works include "NoBody's Land", "Fleeting Feathers", "Walls", "In the Beginning", "Sacred Scars", "Human", "UKIYO", "The Great Migration" and "GJURMËT".
